Star Wars IV 1977 vs 1997 vs 2004 comparison

We watched Star Wars IV:A New Hope last week. It’s been a while since either of us had seen it.

The last time I saw it was with a VHS player.

Besides Mark Hamill’s doe-eyed portrayal of Luke Skywalker, which we both found kinda funny, there were several things that stood out.

There’s a scene in the beginning, when R2D2 and C3PO are captured by Jawas on Tatooine. Look closely as the camera scans the interior of the sandcrawler. Anyone familiar with the 1986 SciFi/Comedy “Short Circuit” will notice a quick shot of Number Five. the robot who came to life when struck by lightning. “No Disassemble Number Five!”

…I’m glad aleespazx took the time to make this video. I don’t think I would have had the patience to do it.
