What secular means.

This is the PERFECT opportunity to point out the warped logic of some…

1) If you’re Christian, you can’t believe in the Big Bang. Hmm, So, um, if you believe that God created heaven and Earth, you don’t think it’s possible that God created a Big Bang?? That’s awfully narrow minded of you.

2) Evolution is inconsistent with Christianity because the Bible says God created the world in seven days. - Hm, um, the Bible was written by man thousands of years ago, from spoken stories passed down from person to person through generations, and translated hundreds of times along the way.  - Now, I know the stories that my parents told me about their childhood don’t match up with the stories about my parents that my grandparents told me. I’m sure my parents and grandparents aren’t the first people on Earth to get their stories mixed up. That’s just human nature. *Again, You believe God created heaven and Earth, but you don’t think it’s possible that God created evolution? That’s awfully narrow minded of you.

3) God created Adam and Eve. Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel. According to the Bible, Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel were the ONLY four people on Earth. Yet, when Cain killed Abel, he was sent to the land of Nod to find himself a wife. Wait, what?

I know the above argument may seem as if I’m criticizing Christians, but I’m not. I grew up in a Roman Catholic household. I learned great values from the church. The most important being the Golden Rule. Treat Others the way You, Yourself wish to be treated.

I support a secular government because NOT Everyone has the same beliefs. I don’t want to insist my beliefs upon others, just as I don’t want others to insist their beliefs on me.

It’s one of the reasons the United States is such a wonderful place. :)
